Our identity is very much rooted in a slower and more considered lifestyle that values the exquisite craftsmanship passed down over centuries.Bilimbi's aesthetic, thus merges traditional motifs of the geographies of happier holidays spent, with the timeless classical elegance, championing above all, the beautiful people who practice and teach us those values: the very same talented people who make our beautiful objects, hand and tool.
Our Story
I started collecting various objet d'art partly in my insatiable quest to collect beautiful things but mainly to stay connected to the memories of sun and sea and the warmth of its beautiful people.
In my travels I meet the kindhearted, hospitable and beautiful people of Sri Lanka, who still keep thousands of years old traditional techniques and craft alive with such pride and care.
Bilimbi's inception is thus: it is our quest to bring beautiful objects that help us all connect with memories dreamy languorous time in the tropics, while shining a light on the beautiful people who painstakingly give life to them.

Nanelle's career as an architect and an artist continue to shape her taste and penchant to corral beguilling objects and homewares that ties into memories and fantasies of travels and faraway lands.
